Lacoma Golf Labor Day Weekend Tournaments

The end of the Summer is fast approaching and that means Fall golf at Lacoma!  We’ll kick off our Fall golf season on Labor Day weekend with a full slate of fun, team golf events (see details below).  Each of these events will be staged on our premier 18 hole Blue course with tee times starting as early as 6:30 AM.  The total entry cost for these events is $49 per player ($15 plus cart fees for members) and this includes green fees, cart fees, and prizes.  Prizes are awarded by flight so everyone has a chance to win!

Event Line-up (see below for detailed descriptions)

• Saturday, September 5: Four-player best shot
• Sunday, September 6: Four-player, Step out best shot
• Monday, September 7: Four-player, Step back best shot

Details

• Step Out Best Shot:

All four players tee off.  The team selects the best tee shot.  The player whose ball was chosen than “steps out” for that shot and the remaining three players hit the second shot.  That “step out” player is then allowed to return for the third shot, but the player whose ball was chosen for the third shot must step out for the next shot.  That process is repeated until all players reach the green, then all players are allowed to putt.

• Step Back Best Shot:

In this four-player best shot format, each team plays from the Red tees on the first hole.  If the team makes a birdie or better on that hole, they “step back” to the White tees on the second hole.   For the remainder of the front nine, birdie or better scores result in the team stepping back to the next hardest tee.  Par will allow you to remain on your current tee box while bogey+ allows you to move up a tee box on the next hole. Play resets at hole 10 and the process is followed again on the back nine.  Mercifully, at Lacoma, you can’t step back further than the Blue tees.
