Labor Day Weekend Best Shot Tournaments

Autumn golf approaches and to kick off the Fall golf season Lacoma will stage a full slate of fun, best shot golf events each day of Labor Day weekend. Each of these events will be staged on our premier, 18 hole Blue course with tee times starting at 8:00 AM. The total entry cost for these events is $57 per player ($15 plus cart fees for members) and this includes green fees, cart fees, and prizes. Prizes are awarded by flight so everyone has a chance to win!

Event Details

Formats: 18 hole best events with a different format each day (details below)

Venue: Lacoma’s Blue Course

Timing: Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Sep 2 through Sep 4 with tee times from 8 AM to 2 PM

Cost: $57 per player. Passholders pay $15 plus applicable cart fees.

Heaven and Hell Best Shot Tournament

Lacoma will hold the Annual Heaven and Hell golf event on Sunday, August 11.

This 18 hole, four-player best shot (scramble) event will be played on our Red/Gold course. The Red course will be set up by our golfer-friendly PGA Pro so the front nine will be fun and friendly. On the back nine, golfers will be at the mercy of our diabolical superintendent – many of the Golf course hazards will be….unorthodox..

Prizes will be awarded by flight so everyone has a chance to win!

Vintage Best Shot:

This Vintage Best Shot represents a though back to a bygone era, an era before GPS enabled range finders, hybrid clubs and…drivers with metal heads. In this event, GPS devices and laser range finders, hybrid clubs, and wedges lofted more than 56 degrees are prohibited. Additionally, each player must play the first tee shot of the event with a vintage driver (luckily, Lacoma has a few such clubs in stock and will supply them at no additional cost). All players who dress in vintage golf apparel, receive one mulligan per round and the best vintage-ly dressed player will receive a prize,

Sunday, September 4: Four-player, best shot
Monday, September 5: Four-player, Step Back Best Shot

Event Details

Step Back Best Shot: In this four-player best shot format, each team plays from the Red tees on the first hole. If the team makes a birdie or better on that hole, they “step back” to the White tees on the second hole. For the remainder of the front nine, birdie or better scores result in the team stepping back to the next hardest tee. Par will allow you to remain on your current tee box while bogey+ allows you to move up a tee box on the next hole. Play resets at hole 10 and the process is followed again on the back nine. Mercifully, at Lacoma, you can’t step back further than the Blue tees.
